All Boy - ScrapMuch? June 20th (layout 209)

I was so excited when i saw this week's reveal because I saw file folders!!!!! (I know little things excited me) But the reason for my excitment is that a couple of weeks ago I was watching a how-to video on we r memory keepers envelope maker (which i've had since december and never used - - i know embarassing but the reason i never used it is because i never knew how to use it hence the video). But while I was watching the video it showed how you can make file folders with it (i know exciting right perfect for hidden journalling). Anyways so I saw file folders and actually opened my envelope maker to make file folders for this layout (so thank you for this sketch because if not it probably would've sat on my shelf for another 6 months).  This wonderful sketch that made me so giddy and excited is by Laura Whitaker:


Because this sketch made me happy, i needed photos that made me just as happy and I immediately thought of these pictures that I took of my son last month while he and our cat were playing together (they are seriously the best of friends and do everything together). I was changing the laundry and heard my son laughing uncontrollably and when i came into the living room he is laying on his blanket and the cat is above him and they are playing together, it was too cute i just had to snap a picture.

Jamberry Easter - ScrapMuch? June 13 (layout 208)

I know I'm a couple of weeks behind but with renos and the wedding album I finished last week I just haven't had time to scrap for myself; however, today I was able to scrap for the majority of the day (one good point of my son waking up at 6am and all he wants to do is play independently). This week's sketch is by Laura Whitaker, which by the way if you have never worked with one of her sketches, you really should, they are so versatile and fun to play with!!!!

I cut a piece of cardboard with my circle cutter then pealed away the top layer (to expose the corrugated cardboard) then I painted it with Tim Holtz distress paint (spun sugar)

Happy Birthday - LCOM #76 card

Ok I will be the first to admit that this week's Let's Capture Our Memories pagedraft card sketch intimidated me. However when i went back to it a couple of days later i was completely inspired (probably because I am going to my cousin's daughter party in two days and had to make her a card).

Candy Time - LCOM #76 (layout 207)

As soon as i saw the sketch i thought of the pinata from my son's birthday last year, the kids were so excited to see a pinata and were even more excited that they could all pull a string to help open it. And to ensure everyone got the same amount of candy, i pre-made baggies with the same amount of candy/treats in it and everyone got one bag (even the adults)!!

Backyard BBQ inspired wedding scrapbook (layout 187-206)

My cousin, David, is getting married next month and for their gift I made them a wedding scrapbook so when they get their photos back they can add them in. I took inspiration from their invitation (which I scrapped as the 1st page in the album). I am so happy with the way this turned out and hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Autumn (layout 184)

Boys will be Boys - Canadian Scrapbooker June Sketchy Challnege (layout 183)

Another month means another fabulous sketch by the uber talented Sue Sykes:


Here is my take:

Journaling reads: I wanted to get some pictures of Kyle in the leaves before the weather turned too cold (here only half the leaves fall then it starts to snow then the rest of the leaves fall) so there is no point in raking leaves in the fall because you just have to do it again in the spring (or whenever the snow decides to melt). It was quite cold in October so the one day it was sunny I bundled Kyle up and we went outside. My parents were here for a visit (as it was almost his birthday) so they also came outside with us. We grabbed the rake and raked the leaves into a pile and then put Kyle in the pile of leaves. He threw the leaves around for a couple of minutes then thought it would be more fun to have a leaf fight with grandpa. Grandpa also taught him how to rake up the leaves but Kyle again thought it was more fun to rake the leaves at grandpa rather than into a pile. The two of them then managed to rake the leaves into a pile, only to jump into them and throw the leaves everywhere. I gave up the idea of having “perfect” fall pictures and instead just started snapping away while my dad and son played . . . I think these pictures turned out much better. It was really nice seeing my dad laugh so hard. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay outside too long as it was getting much too cold and we were all shivering.

A couple of weeks ago when we went camping for may long weekend I went to a scrapbooking store in Sherwood Park (Scrapbook Memories & More) and they had a garage sale/consignment sale. I got so many goodies but my favorite find was finding DCWV's Summer Dream Stack (with no pages missing for $4). I absolutely love this stack because it has nice bright bold patterns just perfect for summer layouts (and i always seem to take so many pictures during the summer so am ALWAYS on the lookout for fun summer papers). So when I saw this sketch i just knew i wanted to use my new stack:

Baby Album (layout 157-176)

Last week, my husband called me from work and asked if I could make one of his co-workers a baby album. His co-worker had seen me put my scrapbooking scraps on freecycle and asked my husband if I was getting out of scrapping (he was quite concerned). I explained how my scrap container was getting out of control so i went through my scraps and was going to donate it to a local non-profit organization. He then went on to explain how his co-worker wanted to get into scrapbooking and how she hasn't put any of her baby's photos into an album (her baby is now 16 months). My husband asked her if she would like me to make her a baby album - she was super excited. After becoming her friend on facebook and conversations back and forth about theme/colours this is what i came up with:
