Thank you card - PCC Magazine Monday Week 54

It has been a couple of weeks since I have had the chance to play along with Magazine Mondays for the last couple of weeks as I have been working on a baby album for one of my husband's co-workers.

Here is this week's inspiration:
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 54 Inspiration Piece (image)

And here is my take (based on a card sketch by the deconstructed sketch):

I was inspired by the orange and blue so those are the colours I focused on mostly. I was also inspired by the sparkle of the sea and the flowers which is why I used sparkly paper and some bling in the flowers.

A couple of weeks ago on PCC another crafter (Jean) who does absolutely beautiful work explained how she makes thank you cards and sends them to the individuals who sends her prizes for winning various challenges. I think this is such a wonderful idea so I am also going to do the same. So this is the first thank you card i made (which already is destined to a company for a challenge I won last month) :)

Supplies used:
papers: kaisercraft (lush collection 6x6)
washi & flowers: dollar store
bling: unknown (given as a gift from my cousin)
ink: tim holtz distress ink (weathered wood)

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments :)

I was drawn to the pastel colours and glitter on the bottom half of the ballons. This is what I came up with:

stencil: Tim Holtz layering stencil (dot fade)
title: fancy pants wooden phrase (me & you)
tag: heidi swapp (travel tags)
index card: lily bee design (persnickety collection)
tab: k&company smash (clips)

Season's Greetings - LCOM #72 (layout 153)

Another week and another fabulous sketch challenge from Let's Capture Our Memories, this is actually from last week but since I hand-stitched it took a little longer than usual to complete (well and I went camping last weekend so it took a little bit to get caught up, cleaned-up and ready to scrap again). This sketch is from Becky Fleck and Pagemaps:

Here is my take:

Supplies used:
paper: dcwv (winter holiday stack)
border: k&company
stitched circle: I used We R Memory keeper sew easy circle with the straight stitch head, I then hand-stitched the circle with DMC floss
embellies: k&company die-cuts, recollections stickers, karen foster brads (christmas), heidi swapp (travel tabs)
the title is actually from a gift-tag i got from from brother and sister-in-law Christmas of 2012

Thank you for looking and for your kind words, hope you can play along this month at Let's Capture our memories: http://letscaptureourmemories.blogspot.ca/2014/05/lcom-sketch-72-reveal.html
