My son, Kyle, who is now 16.5 months, is now a happy motoring toddler. However, his entry into this world was very scary as he was born at 29 weeks and weighed only 3lbs 10.5oz. He was so small that my husband only needed one hand to hold him. We (I say we because I was there for 12 hours a day and then the last three weeks lived at the hospital so i could be there around the clock to breastfeed) spent a total of 7 weeks in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). Kyle is my absolute everything and the majority of my scrapbook inspiration comes from him (along with 99.9% of the photos i take).
For this challenge I went with Madonna's "Lucky Star" this is for a couple of reasons. The first is during the time we were in the NICU, I prayed, picked up pennies, threw pennies in fountains, and wished upon a star that Kyle would get bigger and stronger and would be able to come home sooner, rather than later. The second because I thank my lucky stars every day that Kyle is healthy (which is VERY unusual for a child who was born so early).
I used white crayon and distressed paint to create the background. Thank you for stopping by and for the love. Hope you play along this month: http://tracywburgos.typepad.com/treasure_the_momentlove_l/2013/03/march-creative-dare-1.html

I love your scrapbook page, Rebecca! I really like all your "white space," which in this case is, of course, blue! That style of scrapbooking when you are using a single photo really rocks. Come join us on Facebook!!
