My Sweet Earth: April Create to Live Challenge (layout 151)

If you are not already following Susan K Weckesser blog you really should go over and follow her (she is so creative!!!)

This months challenge (http://mysweetearth.blogspot.ca/2013/04/april-create-to-live-challenge_6.html) is based on the following:

As with most of my pages, my son is my inspiration and this page is no exception. As soon as I saw this months inspiration I immediately thought of the time I spent in the NICU after my son was born (for those who do not know my son was born at 29 weeks (11 weeks premature). While we were in the NICU I spent most of my time dreaming and thinking of what the future holds. Although scrapping pictures of my son while he was in the NICU is very emotional, I think it is very important to document life (both the good and the hard).Anyways here is my page:

I came across the following poem and added it as my journalling (Baby Song by Diane Woolley) as these words brought tears to my eyes because this is exactly how I felt and said these words while in the NICU:

At first you didn't lift your head;
You didn't know to smile.
The time before you knew my voice
Seemed such a long, long while.
I couldn't wait for you to roll,
And then to sit and clap.
And now you're off and crawling,
Not helpless in my lap.
Why didn't someone tell me
How fast a baby grows,
That every little baby stage
Soon comes, but sooner goes.
So I'll enjoy the fleeting time
Before you learn to walk.
and treasure every tiny noise
Before you learn to talk.
For soon you'll learn to walk,
Then run,
And talk and sing a song,
And never be my babe again.
The babe's forever gone.
Little baby, take your time,
For while you are tiny, you are mine.

I did it in Disney Princesses as that is the theme of the birthday party.
