Seaside - ScrapMuch? December 19 DT reveal (layout 382)

Good Morning!!! How is everyone feeling with Christmas just a week away, have you finished your Christmas shopping. . .or have you even started yet. Since I make 90% of our gifts, I actually just finished the last one Wednesday (however, it is still sitting on the counter waiting to be wrapped). We are actually leaving for holidays tomorrow as we are driving (20+ hours and a ferry) to go spend Christmas with my family.

With Friday it means ScrapMuch? reveal day and this one is absolutely stunning:

Here is my take:

Although it hasn't snowed in a couple of weeks, we still have over a foot of snow on the ground and will continue to stay on the ground until mid March-April. The winters are long and I needed some much needed sunshine so created this fun layout of this past summer of my son and mom playing in the water at the lake while camping.

To create the rays I pierced the paper and then every 2nd stitch I added a sequin (I hand sewed them into the layout).

Supplies used:
papers: stampin' up (cardstock), Echo Park (summer bliss)
ink: tim holtz crackle paint (mustard seed)
title: TPC studio (just beachy)
sequins: forever in time
enamels: we r memory keepers (warm)
other: bo bunny noteworthy (barefoot & bliss noteworthy), harmonie (chipboard circle), we r memory keepers (sew easy board), stampin' up (paper piercing shapes), authentique (radiant)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you can play along this month - - there are prizes too!!!! http://nblo.gs/128WqX

Believe (layout 381)

I am back with another photo from last Christmas:

I used a sketch from Docudrafts:

The idea behind the whole layout came from Child's Play Challenge's December inspiration (polar express), my favorite part of the movie is the concept of believing and how only people who believe can hear the bells, I never believed i would finish the cards, but my husband did.

Supplies used:
papers: basic grey (blitzen)
alphas: doodlebug design (shin-dig: ladybug)
inks: tim holtz distress paint (antiqued bronze, festive berries), martha stewart (metallic embossing powder - silver)
ribbon: martha stewart (christmas)
washi; forever in time
texture paste
stickers: dollar store
reindeer: a2z scraplets
ribbon: ospray
pearls: queen & co (sunflower)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you can play along this month:

Christmas Smile (layout 378)

Sharing another Christmas layout with you today, well technically it is a Christmas Eve layout (but hey same kind of thing).

I used a sketch by Let's Get Sketchy Week 3:

I was inspired by the colours and the sad face of PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Monday week 81. As you can see in my layout although it is called Christmas Smile (because atleast 1 person in each photo is smiling) I thought it fit well with the PCC inspiration because in each photo there is also one sad face:

Frisbee Golf - December Stack-a-holic challenge (layout 366)

I am back with the first of a few posts tonight as I was able to do quite a bit of scrapping this weekend since my husband was home to watch our son so I got a good bunch (11 pages) done on my grandpa's album (Christmas present). I am using Die Cut With a View (DCWV)'s Limoncello stack to create the album as I find it has a manly feel while having some glitter on some of the pages to make it fun.

So since I am using DCWVs stack to create this album it is only fitting that I create a page for this month's stack-a-holic challenge:

And my take:

a couple of Christmas presents

A couple of years ago, we decided that since I'm so crafty, that i would make the majority of our Christmas presents. Although it is ALOT of work, it is so worth it and (I feel) the gifts are better received. Here are some of what I have been working on:

Merry Christmas - LCOM #100

So I have been MIA lately cause I have been crazy busy getting Christmas ready (you will see a bunch of new posts today with all the stuff I have been creating). Here is a card I created based on a pagemaps sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories:

And my take:

I have 70 cards to make this year so I make multiples of cards (I have two weeks til we leave and I want to mail out the  cards before i leave).

Supplies used:
I used a stamp (i have had in my stash forever) and stamped it with tim holtz distress pad (frayed burlap) and then put martha stewart metallic embossing powder (bronze) over, tapped it off and heat embossed it with my martha stewart heating tool (by far my favorite heat gun). I then stamped the stampin' up mini sentiment with tim holtz distress pad (black soot). i then used my glitter glue (yellow) and went over the stars.

new challenge blog!!! Picture This! coming soon!!!!

Okay so as most of you know I am a stay-at-home mom to a wonderful little 3-year old (Kyle) who is the apple of my eye and I love doing (and documenting) all of our adventures together!!! Which is why sketches are my favorite go-to scrapbook tool (yes i called sketches a tool)!!! But what i love most about sketches is because the sketch gives me such a great starting place it leaves me time to focus on other things on my layout such as design, colour, technique, embellishing (etc etc) so when I came across Picture This! challenge blog I immediately thought this is right up my alley!!!

Their challenges focus of photos, techinques and products!!! Hello incredible right!!! I am so excited to get started with them (and if i didn't have a ton of things on my crafting table [aka my kitchen counter] i would be all over the December Mini Challenge sampler (however, if i by chance do get my presents [and cards] finished by december 19th i will definitely trying to create something for this challenge).

Okay so you are probably asking why I am telling you about this (well besides the obvious that they are AWESOME). . .1) it gives you another reason to create; 2) they are brand new and want to get the word out; 3) a chance to win some kick a$$ stuff (no joke, like really who doesn't like free stuff??) go and check them out on their blog: http://picturethischallenges.blogspot.ca/ or facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Picture-This-Challenge-Blog/732315413528257 like them, comment on their giveaway and you could win!!! And although free stuff is always nice (especially free scrapping stuff) you are learning about a brand new site/challenge so common what do you have to lose, come play!!!

Okie dokie so today is Friday which means another exciting reveal from ScrapMuch? this week's sketch is super fun and versatile:
