Wish - Pixels and Paper April Design Team Reveal

Hello everyone!!! Hope you are all excited about April!!! It's spring here and I am so excited that the weather is getting nicer and the snow is finally melting.

With the 1st of April it means that it is reveal day at Pixels and Paper. Here is this month's inspiration with a twist of vintage, how you interpret "vintage" is up to you:

Here is my take, I used lots of lace doilies, metal pieces, pearls, jewels and distressed edges for a vintage look:

Here are some close ups:

family

another layout to share with you today is one I created of my husband, sister-in-law and mom dishing out food at Thanksgiving dinner:

I used autumn tones of yellow, red, orange and green.
Memories is in the stamp and the word stickers
There are leaves in the background paper as well as stickers and I painted some chipboard leaves and and then accented them with liquid pearls and stickles

I used the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine march sketch-y challenge: http://canadianscrapbooker.ca/sketchy/showphoto.php?photo=1517&title=kellyklapstein-march-s&cat=564

so much cooler in shades

It has been a very crazy crazy week. Last monday I went for my MRI, and when we got home my husband went to the ER, tuesday i went to work (still on crutches) and my husband stayed home. After work, I was driving to pick up our son and my car said my tire was low, so i drove to the local dealership who informed me that my tire had been slashed (yes while i was at work) and that i needed the warrenty number to see if they could get it warrentied so they put on my donut/spare and i went to pick up my son. My husband said he would meet us in town (since we live 30 minutes out of town and on a donut you can only do 40km/h so he was going to follow me home). I picked up my son from daycare and on my way to meet my husband, he calls me telling me he had 4 messages from the hospital and he needed to go in right away. So after a quick pitstop at 7-11, we went to the hospital and was admitted, we stayed for xrays and then my husband told me to go home and get some rest (left my car at the hospital and took my husband's truck home). I then got a call at 10pm that they were transferring him to Edmonton (three hours away)!!! Very little sleep that night. Wednesday i let the dealership know my warrenty number and got the news that my MRI came back and that i have no tears!!! Goodbye crutches. Wednesday evening i drop off my car and they tell me I will be covered under warrenty. Meanwhile my husband is sitting in the hospital being seen by doctors and specialists and no one knows what is going on but in the mean time are taking lots and lots of blood. thursday i get up and go to work, i then get the call that my car is ready so then i leave work get my car, pick up my son and head to edmonton. By the time we got there the surgery the doctors/specialists had been planning was cancelled because they didn't think he needed anymore and determined he had a variety of infection not normally seen that severe in adults so they didn't want to think that is what it was, fortunately he was released friday and now he is home!!!

So now that i'm done with crutches and hubby is home from the hospital we can get back to normal so what is the first thing i do when i get home - - that's right scrap!!! I needed some time to myself to destress and reflect on the past week so i spent a couple of hours scrapping yesterday and it feels fabulous!!!!

first up to share is a layout I created of my three beautiful cousins:

I used the sketch over at this month's scrap the girls:http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.ca/2016/03/march-reveal.html

I was also inspired by this month's ScrapMuch? colour challenge: http://www.shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2016/03/march-colour-challenge.html

Splash n' Boots - Let's Scrap 3-15-16 DT reveal

Good day everyone!!! How are you doing??I am still on crutches waiting on an MRI to see wha's the deal with my knee. Today is mid month which means a fabulous new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap!!
Here is my take, I stayed fairly close to the sketch but instead of flowers with flourishes I used guitars and instead of diamonds I used a cut file from my silhouette:

Here are a couple of close ups:

I cut the guitar flourish with my silhouette from white paper and then painted th guitar blue/yellow to look like Splash's guitar. I then gold heat embossed the flourish:

I added some liquid pearls on the heart to give it some dimension and colour:

All the papers I used are from GCD studios but I found the background papers I wanted to use a little too bright so I added music note stickers to the paper and then misted the paper with blue, yellow and gold, then once it dried I removed the stickers to show bright music notes around the page:

Be Silly

So still not alot of scrapping going on with me since I'm still on crutches and quite sore when i stand for long periods of time (espcially since I have to put my weight on my "good" leg). I was able to make this fun layout of my son and I. I used craft smith papers (rainbow sorbet), gelatos, basic grey emphemera, mist, stamps and enamel dots.

I am submitting this to Let's Get Sketchy week 5: http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.ca/2016/02/5th-week-challenge.html

Christmas Morning 2014 - Let's Scrap Sketches March 1 DT reveal

Hello everyone and happy March 1st!!! I am so happy to be back for another term with Let's Scrap Sketches Design Team!!!! To start off this term we have this wonderful sketch:

Here is my take!! When I first saw this sketch I immediately looked at the buttons as a present and I knew I wanted to do a Christmas layout with something to open up!!!

I absolutely love these papers from Pink Paislee and love how they all work together!!! I cut a tree with my silhouette and then cut it down the middle and wrapped it on both sides. I decided instead of a present, to instead make a christmas window that opens up to reveal another photo.

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. I hope you can play along with us with Let's Scrap Sketches. You have until March 15th to link up your project for a chance at a wonderful prize; http://letsscrapsketches.blogspot.ca/
