a bridal shower gift and card

Next up is a gift I made for a friend of mine who is having her bridal shower this weekend. Unfortunately, I had prior plans so I am not able to attend; however, still wanted to give her a gift so I made her a canvas. On the left side I used my silhouette to type the lyrics of their first dance (Ed Sheeran's we found love):

Grad 2015 - Let's Get Sketchy Week 4

Hello, I am sharing a very important project with you today. My best friend's daughter is graduating high school this year, this is important for many reasons, one of them that I used to babysit her daughter, when I graduated high school she was about 3 (yes i'm giving away my age). The reason this project is so special to me because for Christmas I made the mom a canvas and she loved it so much that she ask if i would make a canvas of her daughter's grad photos to forever hang in her home. I was so honored by her requst that I looked for months for the perfect papers to go along with her photos. I have to say that I tried to get a good picture but I could not get a good enough picture to show how pretty this is in person.

the papers are both recollection, flowers are recollections and petaloo, bling is zva creative, stencil is tim holtz layering stencil, title was cut with my silhouette, paint is tim holtz, mists are tattered angels and lindy's stamp gang.

I was inspired by Let's Get Sketchy Week 4:

So thankful for our family - ScrapMuch? Sketchy Friday (179/365)

Good morning everyone!!! It is Friday and that means it's ScrapMuch? Sketchy friday!!!! I have a fun layout to share with you this week of a picture that was taken last year while my cousin and her mom went and visited our grandma.

Here is this week's sketch by Laura Whitaker:

The doily was cut with my silhouette. The best part of this layout is that all the papers came from a 6x6 paper pad!!!! I know right, love when that happens. I love 6x6 pads but never seem to use them so this time I was like I can totally make a layout with just 6x6 papers and look SUCCESS!!!! Here are a couple of close ups:

May long weekend of project

Now I know that May-long weekend (aka may two-four) is usually the kick off to summer and the first camping weekend of the season; however, because I want to put the house up for sale in it's best condition, and my husband was working, I figured this was the perfect time to get some projects done!!!!

First up a trip to my local home hardware to pick up supplies:

When we got home from town it was still pretty early and I knew my son wouldn't go for a nap and since he ate lunch in the car on the way home (loves his hot dogs) I got straight to work and started clearing out this garden I planted two years ago but wasn't able to touch last year because the mayflies were so bad we couldn't even go out without eating bugs by the mouthful:

Before:

After raking and clearing out weeds:

all the debris that came out of the garden:

Next up is planter boxes for the deck, my little helper smoothed out the dirt and helped me place them on the deck:

The biggest job for the weekend was painting the entry closet and interior doors. . .these are the before:

1st coat done!!!

closet is done, added another shelf to the top and side shelves

Because I painted the doors, I no longer wanted over the door hanger so I found this cute towel hanger at Winners for the bathroom:

Last job Monday night was using goo gone and cleaning off the tape reside off window trim inside left behind from the terrible tape we bought last year to secure the airconditioner (forgot to take pictures of that). But after I was done doing the windows, my husband asked if it was safe to use on hsi truck (he used canada post tape to tape film on his window a couple of months ago when his window was stuck in the down position). . .it worked perfectly to clean it up!!!

Next up is a baby album I made for my brother and sister-in-law's new baby, he was born a couple of weeks ago and as a baby gift I made them an album in the baby's theme of Curious George, I left the photo and journalling spots blank so they can fill in all the information together :)
