a couple of cards

Last post for tonight is a couple of cards I made, a birthday card and a couple of thank you cards.

First up is a birthday card I made for a little boy who is having his 4th birthday party sunday afternoon:

This card is based on a Let's Capture Our Memories Card sketch #126: http://letscaptureourmemories.blogspot.ca/2015/06/lcom-sketch-126-reveal.html

I also made a couple of thank you cards:

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments, hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

Logan's turn - sketch~n~scrap #83 (266/365)

Next up tonight is a layout I made of my cousin's son at my son's birthday party last year. He had so much fun hitting the pinata (even though he needed daddy's help):

I created this based on Sketch~n~scrap's sketch #83:

thank you for stopping by and for you wonderful comments, hope you can play along this month at Sketch~n~scrap :)

Who Me?? (layout 265/365)

I have a couple of projects to share with you tonight, the first one is a layout I created of a certain someone showing my son that his car is not that scary.

Sketch Challenge #27

And to go with it, I made a card with the scraps (fortunately there was lots of scraps as I didn't use too much paper in my layout. I created the following thank you card for a prize I received in the mail last week:

This card is based on sketch~n~scrap card sketch #52: http://sketchnscrap.blogspot.com

Just Beachy - ScrapMuch? Sketchy Friday Reveal (264/365)

Good morning scrappyland!!! It is Friday and that means it is sketchy friday with Team B. This week's sketch is super fun and I went with a beach layout because it's summer and I cannot wait to get back to the beach/lake. This picture was taken last year when we met my family in Salmon Arm for a week of camping on the lake:

This is the fun sketch we got to play with:

This was a lot of fun to work on, I used my silhouette to cut the title, background and doily. The background I cut on cream paper then sprayed with brown and gold sprays to give it more of a beachy look. The title I also cut with cream paper, then "painted" glue on the words and covered with glitter. The umbrella I painted with tim holtz distress paint and then when it dried, I outlined it with liquid pearls. I switched up the sketch and added the strip to the bottom and used double sided tape and covered it with glitter so it looked more like sand. I added the string because there was lots of rope on the beach (although you can't see it in the picture as we were playing in an area that was relatively clean).

Thank you for stopping by and hope you can play along this month for a chance at a prize. . .you have until June 29th (yes three days but that give you the weekend) to link up your layout: http://shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2015/06/sketch-y-friday-with-team-b_26.html

Until next time have a great day!!!!!

Summer Hug (263/365)

Last summer while I was visiting my parents on Vancouver Island, my aunt (from yellowknife) and cousin (who was teaching in Guatemala) came for a visit. It was so great to see them, as I don't often to get see them (maybe once every couple of years) so I took full advantage and took pictures whenever I could. This picture was taken in my hometown at Harbour Quay. I am submitting it for Picture This! June 15th challenge: http://picturethischallenges.blogspot.ca/2015/06/june-15th-picture-this-challenge.html
1 photo + paint + stencil

I used one photo, misted a stencil (behind doily) and painted the outside of the paper with tim holtz distress paint (spun sugar).

I am also submitting this layout to another freaking scrappy challenge with june's challenge to use a new tool: I used a bunch of new things on this layout, the stamped words (new stamp), stencil (new stencil). . .the doily is also new, as well as the puffy stickers and paper!!! Hope you can play along with another freaking scrappy challenge: http://another-freaking-scrappy-challenge.blogspot.ca/2015/06/challenge-june-2015.html

I stayed true to the sketch because 1) i love this sketch. . .and 2) it worked really well for the pictures I wanted to use

Craig & Andrea's Wedding Gift (layout 220-239)

One of my cousins got married this past weekend and as their gift I made them a scrapbook wedding album in their colours (black, cream, and pink). I found this Craft Smith natural luxury stack back in December and just knew it would be perfect for their album. I added the photos/etc for the first 5 pages as I printed photos out, but since I wanted to give it to them on their wedding day (i added places for them to add their own favorite photos of their special day). I am so happy with the way this album turned out and hope you enjoy it too.
