2 lizards & a snake - LCOM #37 (layout 336)

I love Let's Capture Our Memories sketches, they are so unique and different and push me out of my comfort zone (which i love). Here is sketch #37:

Here is my take:

Another fun page, the background is made with modeling paste I made myself (baking soda, white glue, and white paint with a teeny tiny bit of water).

Unwrapping presents 2012 - Simple Sketches #2 (layout 335)

Here is sketch #2:

I took a lot of liberties with this one but I swear the following is based on the above sketch:

This was actually a lot of fun to do. The paper is from Mambi and I added embellishments to give the paper a more 3-d effect. The flowers are recollections as are the light bulbs. The snowflakes are k&company.

Thank you for stopping by :)

Unsure of great-grandma Simple Sketches #4 (layout 334)

Another fabulous sketch from Simple Sketches:

Here is my take:
I used DCWV baby girl stack and recollection adhesive borders. The washi tape is from the dollar store and the little button I have had forever in my stash. The flower clusters are a mix of flowers from Prima and Jollee.

Thank you for stopping by :)

Some cards I have been working on

Earlier this week it occured to me that there were only 97 days left til Christms (less now) and I realized I had not yet started my Christmas cards (it is one of my goals this year to make AND send out all our christmas cards) so decided I needed to get a start. While making Christmas cards I figured I would also make some baby cards and congratulations card (which were both inspired by my cousin giving birth to a beautiful baby boy earlier this week).

Some more of what I have been working on this month (layouts 325-333)

DCWV September stack-a-holic challenge (layout 324)

As you all know how much I love DCWVs stack and use any excuse to get a new stack ;)

Last weekend while I was in Edmonton I stopped in Micheals and was so excited to see that they had a bunch of new stacks in and since I have so many baby pictures of kyle to still scrap i could not resist getting the new baby boy stack.

When I saw this months sketch I knew i wanted to use my newest stack. Here is this months sketch:

Simple Sketch #1 (layout 323)

I was so excited when the first sketch came out!!! Here is the very first of many sketches to come:

Here is my take:

These pictures were taken the first time Kyle painted (I wanted to control the mess as much as possible hence why he is in his high chair) and he painted his dad a picture.

I am very happy with the way this turned out and thought this sketch fit the pictures perfectly with how messy Kyle was painting that i was able to be that messy with the page :)

Let's Capture our Memories (LCOM) Sketch #35 - layout 301

I have been following LCOM for a while now but have never actually finished their sketch by the end of the month. Well this month since I have been working on a baby scrapbook for my gf and needed some inspiration for a 2-page layout I decided to give it a go (loving working with 2 pagers lately, just never seem to have enough photos for myself).

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take:

This scrapbook I am making is an absolute labour of love for two wonderful people and their miracle baby. He has two daughters and was diagnosed with brain cancer. He had surgery to remove the tumor and was put on medication and was told he would never be able to have children. It was by chance that they got pregnant before he started the medication (had to wait 10 weeks to start medication after tumor was removed) and they had a baby boy who is 100% healthy. Dad is now in remission and everyone is doing amazing. Dad's favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys so I thought it was fitting that I make them a Dallas Cowboys baby album.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you can play over at LCOM this month: http://letscaptureourmemories.blogspot.ca/2013/08/lcom-sketch-35.html

September Create to Live Challenge (layout 300)

I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks because they just seem to fly by!!!! We put our house on the market back in June and in July our realtor up and moved to another city in the middle of the night and the realtor who took over for her isn't doing ANYTHING to sell our house so we have been working on our house to make it more livable (new plan is to do renovations in the spring and double our square footage and then re-list). But in the mean time I painted the bedroom (a beautiful colour Poetic) and cleaned and stained our deck. So it's been crazy busy and I haven't had time for much crafting.

However, the beginning of the month always pushes me to get my creative juices flowing again, but since I had to do a baby album before i did any personal scrapping, I haven't had time (or motivation) to do either. Well yesterday I finally found my mojo and finished the album (will post pictures after this weekend when I give it to her) and jumped right into creating for myself again.

As soon as I saw September's Create to Live inspiration I knew exactly what I wanted to do. First off here is the inspiration:
Made with Repix (http://repix.it)

When I saw this I first thought of fall and the changing of the seasons. The leaves have started to turn and because I am in Northern Alberta, our fall doesn't last long because winter is just way to excited to be here (boo). I decided to take the thought of changing of the seasons/changing of the leaves and turn that into a layout and this is what I came up with:

I'm so very happy with the way this turned out, thanks for stopping in and hope you come play along at: http://mysweetearth.blogspot.ca/2013/09/september-create-to-live-challenge.html
