I have also finished 30&31 but it was still drying while it was light outside today (it was -38 today; we were in a wind chill advisory = chillly) so I will have to take a pic tomorrow and add it then.

Scrapbook & Cards Today - Tuesday Sketch Challenge

If you haven't heard of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, I STRONGLY suggest you do, they have great ideas and sketches in all their issues (love them!!!). Anyways, I follow them on facebook and last Tuesday they put out a sketch challenge, I love getting into challenges but my son has been teething all week and then I got sick so haven't been able to get to work on it. My husband was an absolute sweetheart today and helped out by playing with our son while I got to scrapbook (love days like this one).

Here is the sketch (it is from PageMaps), and the challenge can be found http://scrapbookandcardstodaymag.typepad.com/scrapbook_cards_today_blo/2013/01/sketches-weve-got-sketches.html:

2013 resolutions

I am a huge believer in making resolutions. I am posting my goals late because I have really had difficulties narrowing down my resolutions. I have broken them down into 3 categories:

1. Something I need: take my ex-husband off our joint bank account. It was my account (have had the account since I was 3) and when we got married, he didn't have a bank account for reasons I'm not getting into here (which should have been a HUGE red flag - but that is another story) so I added him to my account. When we separated, he gave me back the bank card and swore he wouldn't touch the account - - which was true until about 3 weeks ago when he tried to close the account. I found this out while I was on holidays so couldn't do anything about it until I got home and could go to the bank. Last week I went to the bank and closed the account (HOORAY). So one goal down.

2. Something I want: lose another 20 pounds. I know I say this every year which is probably why I started my weight loss journey in October after I saw pictures of myself at my son's 1st birthday party and vowed that I would never look that terrible again. Between October (when I started my weight-loss journey) and middle of December (when I went away for Christmas), I lost 14 pounds. Christmas I ate WAY too much, so when I came back I got back into the routine and since I weighed in before Christmas I am down another 0.5 pounds (probably lost more than that but considering my gain at Christmas I am considering this a step in the right direction).  I have lost this weight using SparkPeople which can be found here: http://www.sparkpeople.com. I am a fan of this site because (1) it's free, (2) it keeps me accountable because I have to track my food, exercise, and water drank, and (3) the supportive network. I will continue to keep you updated with my progress.

3. Something that will make me happy: scrap 365 pages this year (aka page a day challenge). As I complete a page, I will post here

January 15 - starting a new venture

For the last couple of years I have been making scrapbooks for my family and friends. It has come to the point when a girlfriend finds out she is pregnant, she has already started to think of what theme she would like for her baby book. Over the past year (probably since I have been scraping more), my friends and family have been telling me that I should be be selling my scrapbooks to the public. I have thought about this because it is a HUGE step but I decided that this is something that I want to undertake. I have started a facebook page which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/CraftingInTheSticks. I am very excited about this and am hoping to build up over the next year and in November start attending craft fairs around the Lakeland region. I will keep you all updated on my venture.
