Love You - GrandDiva & Rochelle Spears Challenge (layout 274)

At the beginning of this month Frosted Designs encouraged everyone to go check out Grand Diva and the sketch challenge they are having this month. As soon as I saw the sketch I fell in love:

I love all the layers and the tags and the stitched circle. . .I love so many of the elements that I couldn't wait to play; unfortunately, because I was still on holidays I did have to wait and it wasn't until I got my pictures back from holidays that I was able to start to create.

As part of this challenge, Grand Diva also encouraged us to create a layout and combine with as many of her scrappy friends challenges as well. I chose to combine with Rochelle Spears' Tic-Tac-Toe challenge:

I went with one photo, circle, and treat bag.

Here is my take:

splish splash - Stuck?! sketches August 15th (layout 271)

I love love love the August 15th sketch from stuck?! sketches by Laura Whitaker mostly because it is a 1-page layout but with multiple photos (which is quite unique). Here is the sketch:

Here is my take:

I have a feeling that this layout is missing something but I can't quite put my finger on what it is missing but I refuse to let this sit on my scrap space (aka my kitchen counter) for the next couple of days/weeks/months while I figure out what is wrong with it so I am leaving it as is.

Supplies used:
I splattered Tim Holtz distress paint (salty ocean) over the background paper
papers: bo bunny (lemonade stand: lemonade stand, carnival)
pinwheels: recollections
stickers: bo bunny (lemonade stand combo stickers)
other: pretty little studio (sand castle word flashcards), bo bunny (lemonade noteworthy)

Thank you for stopping in, and if you have any suggestion(s) of what I can add to this layout I would really appreciate it. Also hope you can play along this month at stuck?! they have awesome fun sketches to play with!!!: http://stucksketches.blogspot.ca/2014/08/august-15th-sketch-challenge.html

on the pier - ScrapMuch? colour challenge (layout 270)

I didn't know if I would get this month's colour challenge done considering I was on holidays for the first week and half of August and then earlier this week I fell down my front steps and landed on my ankle and wrist and I have been so sore that i've been on pain meds every 4 hours ever since. Today I was actually feeling better (i could stand without pain) so of course I scrapped a page while my son played.

I am absolutely in love with this layout. It is of my cousin and his new wife on their wedding day that I was so blessed to be apart of their special day. Time2Ride - PCC Magazine Monday Week 63 (layout 266)

Hello and thank you for stopping by. One thing I really missed while I was on holidays was participating in Paper Crafters Corner (PCC) weekly Magazine Monday challenges (I think I missed four while vacationing). So I knew that when I got back I needed to get back into creating because their magazine covers are so inspiring and challenging (like this week's).

Here is this week's inspiration:
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 63 Inspiration Piece (image)

This one was quite challenging for me because of the single person with the tears flowing down her face and the sound blasting from her ear. . . so for a couple of days I was definitely stumped. I am so glad that the deadline for magazine Monday has been extended til sunday because I was up until quite late last night working on it since while looking at it yesterday morning, inspiration finally clicked and I came up with a plan, and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

I was inspired by the black splattered background, the pops of blue and the patterned hat. This is my take:

I splattered the background with Tim Holtz Distress Paint (black soot). The papers are Studio Calico atlantic (6x6 paper pad). I misted the title (fab scraps) with Tattered angels (jazz blue) and perfect pearls mist (turquoise blue). The bicycle i inked with Tim Holtz Distress stain (broken china). The arrows are recollections and the tabs are heidi swapp.

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments, I hope you can play along this week at PCC magazine Monday: http://papercrafterscorner.com/blog/papercrafting-challenge-magazine-mondays-week-63/#comment-146629

some more enchanted garden layouts (layouts 262-265)

Feed the Ducks - ScrapMuch? August 1 (layout 260-261)

I warned you that I worked all day with Bo Bunny's Enchanted Garden (it doesn't help that I take tons of photos everywhere I go either), but I definitely made a dent in the Enchanted Forest photos (yay me) :)

When I first saw this ScrapMuch? sketch I knew that these photos of my son feeding the ducks with my parents would be the perfect match since I had both vertical and horizontal pictures that fit perfectly. Here is the sketch by Laura Whitaker:

Here is my take:

Supplies used:
papers: bo bunny (enchanted garden: mosaic, pathway, fantasy, romance)
alphas: thickers (rockabye leaf)
washi tape: dollar store
flower: recollection, unknown
die-cut: bo bunny (noteworthy enchanted garden)
chipboard: southern ridge trading co
ink: tim holtz distress stain (mowed lawn)

Peek-a-boo - ScrapMuch? August 8 (layout 259)

I don't normally have my picture taken and even more seldom do I scrap myself but I figured since this sketch came out on my birthday (yes August 8th is my birthday and I am now {wait for it} 34. . .gasp!!!) I had to do a layout of myself.

While on holidays we went to the Enchanted Forest and since it is such a magical place I had to use Bo Bunny's Enchanted Garden collection (seriously loving this collection right now. .. used it all day!!!). Anyways back to ScrapMuch? august 8th sketch by Laura Whitaker:

I altered the sketch by flipping it on it's side but keeping the accents pretty much the same. Here is my take:

Supplies used:
papers: bo bunny (enchanted garden: imagine, mosaic, fantasy)
twine: american craft
flowers: prima (delight)
die-cuts: bo bunny (noteworthy enchanted garden)
washi tape: dollar store
alphas: thickers (rockabye leaf)
ink: tim holtz distress stain (seedless preserves)
chipboard: southern ridge trading co

make a wish... - sketchy challenge (layout 258)

This month's Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge is by the fabulous Sue Sykes:
August 2014 Sketch

I love all the layers with the big title and one photo. Here is my take:

While on holidays we went to the Enchanted Forest (between Sicamous and Revelstoke in British Columbia) and if you have children between 2 and 12 you should definitely bring them there because it is such a wonderful magic place (we went with my parents and even they enjoyed it!!). After we went to the Enchanted Forest i was on the hunt for Bo Bunny's Enchanted Garden because the beautiful whimsical papers just fit so beautifully with the Enchanted Forest so when i saw this sketch I knew I wanted to use one of the photos from that day, mostly because when i saw the splatters I thought of throwing pebbles in the wishing well. I'm so happy with the way this layout turned out.

The journalling reads: after climbing the tree house with pa, Kyle stopped at the wishing well to play in the water. Mommy threw money in the well and made a wish that you will always know how much mommy loves you.

Supplies used:
papers: bo bunny (enchanted garden: mosaic, fantasy, pixies, romance)
alphas: thickers (darling geyser)
washi tape: dollar store
sequins: craft medley
die-cuts: bo bunny (noteworthy enchanted garden)

Thank you for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. Hope you can play along with this month's sketchy challenge: http://canadianscrapbooker.ca/sketchy/showphoto.php?photo=1047&title=august-2014-sketch&cat=539

Gyrassic Park - August DCWV stack-a-holic challenge (layout 256)

Hooray I am back from holidays and boy did i have fun. unfortunately, everytime I wanted to scrap i went and shopped for more supplies so i came home with a tote full of supplies (hooray).

One of the new things I found was Die Cuts with a View 6x6 The Kidosaurus Stack which goes perfectly since while I was on holidays my mom and I took my son to Gyrassic Park a free family event in my hometown. We took lots of photos that night (as per usual) so when I saw this month's stack-a-holic challenge I knew the perfect pictures since i had three photos of down time at the park while we ate snacks.

This month's sketch is by Diana Fisher:

Here is my take:

Supplies used:
paper: dcwv (cardstock brights 12x12, the kidosaurus stack 6x6)
